Who Would Of Thunk It?
Thursday, July 31st, 2008Somethings in baseball just don’t add up. Here’s a couple that might stump you.
1) “A-God”, Entering the first year of his 328 million dollar contract has 23 HR’s and 64 RBI’s. Carlos Delgado on the last year of his 48 million dollar contract has the same amount of HR’s and 5 more RBI’s than “A-God”.
**Not The New York Post. Recently they were calling for the Mets to cut Delgado, while touting Rodriguez as “A-God”**
2) 800 HR’s and not all that great? Although “A-God” will have put up some of the most impressive #’s (when it’s all said and done), if he doesn’t have at least one signature winning moment how in the heck can you put him in Ruth’s, Jordan’s, or LT’s class. “A-God” needs a signature winning moment or 2-3-4 before he’s considered any thing more than a paper-champ, even if he does hit 800 cheap shots. Yeah “A-God” I can’t even put you in a drunk-gambling-addicts class right now bud, because the only thing you got in common with them great ones is the off the field stuff.
**Have to give Rodriguez credit where credit’s due—–His 2007 AL-MVP award was well deserved as the Yankees rode Alex’s coattails all the way to the playoffs, where once again “A-God” shlitzed the bed.**
3) Under the biggest spotlight in the world, one of MLB Best shortstop’s EVER was snubbed from the All-Star game. Jose’s #’s are phenomenal and he’s currently on a pace to hit .303-AVG, 117-R, 207-H, 44-DOUBLES, 18-TRIPLES, 18-HR, 74-RBI, 80-XBH, 341-TB, 53-SB, 72-BB. Also, enough to make you throw up (I know), one of Major League Baseball’s biggest all time bums, Miguel Tejada, was hand picked by Clint Hurdle to play on the NL All-Star Team Reyes was snubbed from.

Who would of thunk, a year after letting Barry go, Russo’s SF Giants will most likely not even hit as many homers as Barry’s record high 73?
