Mets White-Wash-ington 13-0

Saturday, September 30th, 2006

Tom Glavine appeared to be in mid-post-season-form tonight “pitching six brilliant innings in his final tune-up for the playoffs.” ( 6-IP, 3-H, 0-R, 0-BB) Carlos Beltran eclipsed Edgardo Alfonzo for the most runs scored in a single season, by a Met, when he scored his 124th run in the 1st inning on a Julio Franco 3-run-bomb. The franco blast was the second of five homers the Mets would crush tonight, giving the Mets 200-HRs on the year.

Jose Reyes will catalyze the NYM to a World Series Championship. 2006-WS is in the bag, thanks Jose.

.
Megamets Notes:  If Frank Robinson is being pushed out of Washington, it must be because he’s over-qualified.

Carlos Beltran scored 4 runs tonight, padding his franchise best total to 127
